Top JAV Stars of the Decade: 15 – 11

15: Ai Nagase (1999 – 2003)

At the turn of the last decade, if you wanted to see uncensored JAV (or any JAV without ridiculously massive mosaics), you had to put up with really crappy production values and sub-par looking women. One of the few exceptions was Ai Nagase. Ai showed up in several uncensored efforts, some of which had pretty good production values. In a time where mosaics took up half the screen, it was always nice to watch a movie where you could actually tell they were having sex. She was also a mainstream star. In 2001 she was named the second best actress in the XCity Grand Prix Awards (Ichigo Milk was first).

14. Maria Takagi (2002 – 2004)

Maria debuted in late 2002 and retired in early 2004, so for the most part she was only active in 2003. Her career may have been short, but for a year she was pretty much the biggest thing in porn. Not only was she stunningly beautiful, but she was known for her dramatic acting ability. She later went on to appear in TV dramas and movies, although she never became a huge star outside of porn. At one point it was claimed she was the third highest paid porn star in the world, among the likes of American stars Jenna Jameseon and Tera Patrick. Maria Takagi dominated the 2003 X City Grand Prix Awards, winning 5 awards including Best Actress, and Best New Actress.

13. Akiho Yoshizawa (2003 – present)

It’s hard to believe Acky has been around for 7 years already. She still seems so fresh! She has evolved from a cute, sweet looking girl, to an independent woman who knows what she wants. Extremely sexy, great performer, and a strong seller over the course of her entire career, Acky truly is a star. In 2007 Akiho Yoshizawa was selected as the best actress at the Vegas Night awards hosted by Moodyz, and the following year she placed 2nd at the Moodyz Awards.

12. Hitomi Hayasaka (2001 – 2006)

Hitomi is one of the cutest porn stars of the past decade. She won the top New Actress award at the 2001 X City Grand Prix Awards. While she was no kink queen, she did venture into genres that were not common during her era. She did some light lesbian stuff, and she had an anal video. After her retirement, she came out with an uncensored video. Since her retirement she has gone on to be an AV talent producer and she helps run a hostess club featuring JAV stars.

11. Asuka Sawaguchi (2002 – 2005)

Asuka Sawaguchi = cute + sexy + dirty. That’s a nice combo! I’m not much of an anal guy, but her Anal VIP movie from 2003 still sticks out as one of the more memorable JAVs I have seen. Perhaps it’s just because I hadn’t seen a JAV star of her caliber and hotness do anal at that point. In 2002 she joined the SOD Racing Girls group, and she was part of the 2004 Million Girls group from K.M.P.
