Top 25 JAV Stars of the Decade (2000 – 2009): 1 of 5

Over the next 5 days, we’re going to count down the top 25 JAV Stars of the past decade. We’ll reveal 5 stars per day. We’re just considering the work done by these actresses within the past decade. Some of the women on this list debuted before 2000, and there are some big names who were still active after 2000 that aren’t on the list because I felt their best work was already behind them. Who do you think should be on the list?

Top JAV Stars of the Decade: 25 – 21

25: Saori Hara (2009 – present)

I’ve never seen a star rise so quickly in JAV. Saori Hara created a ton of buzz leading up to her record breaking debut. With her quick rise I though her fame may burn out, but she continued to improve and blossomed into a star worthy of all of the hype. She’s only been in the game for a year which is why she is at the bottom of this list. In 10 years when we look back on the current decade, I’m sure Saori will be up near the top.

24: Ran Monbu (2002 – 2007)

Ran is one of the most bubbly porn stars I’ve ever seen. She’s super cute, and a really great actress. She made her debut in 2002 with Moodyz. In 2003 she joined K.M.P. and formed the super porn unit Million Girls, along with Nao Oikawa, Hitomi Hayasaka, Saori Kamiya, and Hitomi Hasegawa. She wrapped her porn career in 2007 by starring in a bunch of uncensored work.

23: Maria Ozawa (2005 – present)

I’m guessing this will be one of the more controversial choices. Some of you will feel she doesn’t belong on this list at all, while others will think she should be in the top. The first time I saw a pic of Maria Ozawa, I was awe struck. She’s still good looking, but around the time of her debut she was unbelievably hot. Unfortunately she wasn’t exactly a natural to performing on camera. Her S1 days were a bit painful to watch. Since then she has come a long way, and has grown into a decent performer. No, she’s not one of the 25 best actresses of the decade, but she is one of the biggest stars. 10 years from now, when many of these girls will be long forgotten, I think many of us will still remember Maria. She also starred in 3 AVGP selections for the 2009 awards.

22: Mihiro (2002 – present)

One sign of a star is her longevity. Mihiro has been showing off her gorgeous body for nearly 8 years now, and she still looks damn fine as the calendar turns to a new decade. She started as a nude model in 2002 before finally taking the plunge into porn in 2005 with Alice Japan. She was criticized at first for faking her sex scenes, but she eventually went all the way. Mihiro has won a few awards for her work in JAV, including a Best Actress Award at the 2006 AV Actress Grand Prix Awards, and runner-up for the 2007 Vegas Night Best Actress Award sponsored by Moodyz.

21: Nanami Nanase (2000 – 2003)

Nanami Nanase is the first star I came across that made a career out of doing really bizarre stuff. For example, she starred in one movie where she had to live with a bunch of guys and a chicken for a couple weeks. She was only allowed to eat the semen of the men she lived with, and whatever eggs the chicken laid. I’m sure it was fake, but the concept itself was odd, and they made it seem pretty real.
